How to stimulate productivity in co-working spaces

Co-working spaces are great for stimulating productivity among employees. Research has shown that employees find their productivity increases by 74% in a co-working space. Here are some great tips on how to stay productive:

Collaborate:

Working in a shared space provides the opportunity to collaborate with those around you, which can often stimulate productivity. Working with people who offer a variety of skills and talents can contribute to the environment of productivity. The advancement of technology has also made it easy to connect with and share work with people online. However, it is important to nurture the right type of engagement and avoid engaging with people merely as a form of procrastination.

Stay focused and accountable:

While co-working spaces are great for stimulating productivity from a collaborative point of view, the social environment can also allow for one to become easily distracted. However, it is up to you to have self-control and tenacity, in order to stay focused on your tasks at hand and achieve your daily goals. An effective way of doing this is by holding yourself accountable to the work that you need to complete. This can be done by monitoring an organised list of the tasks that you need to complete for the day, and by maintaining good time management skills to ensure that they are completed by the necessary deadline.

Time manage and prioritise your work

Co-working spaces provide a structured environment to work in. In order to be productive, it is important to time manage effectively, and in doing this, prioritise your work. Sometimes it may not be possible to complete all the tasks given to you in a day, which is why you must ensure that the most important work is completed first. Scheduling and keeping set hours can help you stay on track with your progress and can also ensure you do not overexert yourself. When in work mode, try to mute unimportant notifications that could distract you from the more important tasks at hand, and try staying off social media.

Take regular breaks:

Your brain will only work productively if you do not overexert it, which is why it is important to take breaks throughout the day. These breaks do not need to be for long periods of time, they merely give your brain a chance to rest and to ensure that the work you are doing reflects quality.

Co-working spaces, when used correctly, can help to stimulate productivity amongst you and your fellow co-workers. CubeWS is committed to creating this very environment for you, and we offer a variety of co-working solutions.
