What better way to kick off our first Cube Cares initiative than on Nelson Mandela Day, and what a rewarding 67 minutes it was! We collected various items for The Lighthouse, in Johannesburg, and The Bookery, Durbanville Children’s Home, and the Santa Shoe Box Project, in Cape Town.
To make this happen, wish lists were sent out and drop off zones were established around Cube workspaces to collect the donated items. We loved seeing our Cubers come together to make this such a success, and put a smile on each of the children’s faces!
Honouring the legacy of Madiba on this day was important, but our efforts to give back to the community should not stop there! 67 minutes of the year is not enough time to make a real difference, we need our difference to be sustained in order to grow our communities! This is why we have created Cube Cares, as an opportunity for us and our Cubers to give back to our community all year round. Every few months, a new charity will be chosen to donate to, and we hope you’ll join us in making a difference! Stay tuned to find out when the next Cube Cares is.
